Physical Therapy focuses on helping patients reach their maximum physical performance and assume their place in society while learning to live within their capabilities. Physical Therapy utilizes the therapeutic use of exercise, heat, cold, water, traction, electricity, sound waves, massage, manual therapy, and the application of orthotic or prosthetic devices to help the patient maximize their performance.
Physical Therapy provides services to a variety of individuals with various physical dysfunctions. Service areas include, but are not limited to orthopedic injuries (i.e., sprains, fractures, joint replacement); neurological problems (i.e., CVAs head injuries, spinal cord lesions, developmental disabilities); other neuromuscular lesions; and wounds (i.e., burns, bites, cellulitis, ulcerations).
