The Renaissance Center for Emotional health is a secured unit providing psychiatry care 24/7. The unit operates 20 beds and provides services for adult psychiatric patients. The unit provides patients care during an immediate crisis and the formulation of a plan to meet their emotional and psychological health needs through appropriate referrals. Services include:
- Secure, supportive environment
- Individualized plans of care
- Social and recreational activities
- Access to medical care and discharge/aftercare planning
A multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, registered nurses, clinical social workers and psychiatric care assistants render care designed to meet the patient’s needs within the anticipated length of stay. Care encompasses patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Daily services for the Adult Psychiatric Program include the following groups: exercise group, psycho-education therapy group, process group, relaxation group, diversional activity group, activity therapy/sensorimotor tasks, music therapy, community meeting group, goal setting group and nurse education group. Some of the nursing/psycho education topics are: anger and stress management, relapse prevention, dual diagnosis, nutrition and drug interaction, spirituality, medication education, understanding treatment plan and diagnosis. Seven different sessions of group therapy are offered Monday through Friday; six group sessions are offered on the weekends. A minimum of 30 hours group therapies over a 7 day period.
