'Thank You From the Bottom of My New Heart'

Mark Sain found himself in a dangerous position where quadruple bypass surgery was the only option following a heart attack. As he and his wife explain, the staff at North Alabama Medical Center went above and beyond to make sure he had a happy, healthy recovery.
"I didn't know at the moment I was having a heart attack, but I knew something wasn't right," said Sain. "When I got to the hospital, a staff member told me that based on the EKG I was having a heart attack. I don't remember much after that. I woke up three weeks later and found out I had open-heart surgery."
Throughout the procedure of the surgery and recovery, NAMC officials remained in close contact with Sain's wife, Debbie. "I got a report every morning," she said. "We never really had a panic moment. In my mind, we knew that the staff would be doing everything in their power to pull him through and that's just what they did."
Mark was discharged three weeks later and began the road to recovery.
"My experience at NAMC was spectacular," added Mark Sain. "I had no issues and would highly recommend NAMC, especiallythe cardioloy department. I have the highest regard for all of the doctors, nurses and staff members."
