Physical Therapy

The role of Physical Therapy in an acute care setting is to facilitate patient movement with functional activities, address decline in joint mobility and strength that may be associated with hospitalization and surgery, improve balance and activity tolerance and ease patient transition to the next care setting. 

Physical Therapy provides services to a variety of individuals with various physical dysfunctions. Service areas include, but are not limited to:

  • Orthopedic injuries (i.e., sprains, fractures, joint replacement)
  • Neurological problems (i.e., CVAs head injuries, spinal cord lesions, developmental disabilities)
  • Other neuromuscular lesions
  • Wounds (i.e., burns, bites, cellulitis, ulcerations)
