iNorth Alabama Medical Center Laboratory Services is a full service clinical, anatomical and cytopathology laboratory located on the ground floor of the facility. The laboratory operates 24/7.
The Laboratory provides an outreach program to area hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, surgical centers, etc. Outreach services include clinical laboratory, anatomical and cytopathology testing as well as courier pick up services. Consultation services are provided free of charge to laboratory clients on an as-needed basis. In addition, phlebotomy services are available for select offices and institutions.
Laboratory Services at North Alabama Medical Center are provided to in-patients, outpatients and non-patients ranging in age from newborn to geriatrics. The NAMC Lab is accredited by The Joint Commission and licensed under CLIA ’88 and the Alabama Department of Health to perform testing in the following areas:
The main NAMC Lab performs approximately 98% of all requested tests on-site with the remaining tests referred to an accredited reference laboratory that has been approved by the hospital medical staff.
In addition to the main laboratory, a limited service laboratory is located at Cox Creek Medical Office Building and North Alabama Medical Center Medical Office Building.
