Market President and Chief Executive Officer
Russell Pigg joined Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital as Chief Executive Office in the spring of 2012. In April 2015, he was appointed North Alabama Market President with oversight of both, Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital, Florence, AL and Shoals Hospital, Muscle Shoals, AL. Mr. Pigg holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Business from David Lipscomb University and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama Birmingham. He formerly served as Chief Executive Officer, Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, Dyersburg, TN and Chief Operating Officer and Interim Chief Executive Officer, Gateway Medical Center, Clarksville, TN.
Chief Operating Officer
Mike Howard joined ECM Hospital in September 2012. He began his ECM tenure as Director of Ancillary Support Services with oversight of Respiratory therapy, Sleep Center and Wound Healing. In January 2014, he was appointed Associate Administrator for the organization and in 2015 appointed to his current position Chief Operating Officer. Mike earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and Organizational Development from Bethel University and received his Master’s in Business Administration from Texas A&M. He previously served as Director of Respiratory Services at Gateway Medical Center in Clarksville, TN and Director of Cardiopulmonary Services at Southern Hills Medical Center, Nashville, TN.
Chief Financial Officer
Steve Hobbs joined ECM Hospital in the summer of 2010, following the acquisition of ECM by RegionalCare Health Partners. He first served in an interim capacity and accepted the permanent position in 2011. Steve is a native of Tennessee.
Oliver P. Matthews, MD
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Oliver Matthews joined as the Chief Medical Officer for ECM Hospital in September 2013. Prior to serving as CMO, Dr. Matthews served our community as an Interventional Cardiologist for 34 years. Dr. Matthews attended medical school at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and completed his training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
Chief Nursing Officer
Barry Hawthorne, RN, MSN, has a vast nursing background, including 10 years in CNO roles, even serving previously as Interim CNO at ECM Hospital. Barry comes back to the south from Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, ID. As CNO, he makes it his mission to interact with staff by being a visible leader and reduce turnover.
